Obituary for Adele Dillon

Adele Louise Dillon was born Adele Louise Oliver on December 24, 1954 in Yonkers, NY, the loving daughter of the late Sadie Mae Degree-Oliver and Junius Oliver.

Adele attended Yonkers Public Schools, graduating from Charles E Gorton High School then continuing her education at a college in New York State. Throughout the course of her life, she worked in numerous positions caring for both children and adults. She was employed at St. Joseph’s Medical Center, Queens Daughters Day Care Center and St. Christopher's Inc., prior to retiring from Greenburgh-North Castle UFSD.

On February 6, 1985, she married the love of her life, the late Clyde Dillon Sr. From this union, four beautiful children were born. She loved her family dearly and her children meant the absolute world to her. Adele instilled in her children the love of humanity and each of them have followed in her footsteps of caring for and teaching others.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Chevyonne Dillon of Yonkers, NY, Latonia Dillon of Houston, TX, Clyde Dillon Jr. of Perth Amboy, NJ, and Ashley Dillon of Yonkers, NY; 2 Godchildren, James Degree Jr. and Jarret Middleton of Yonkers, NY. She also leaves to cherish her memory, 7 siblings, Deborah Alexander of Yonkers, NY, Jefferey Oliver (Denise Johnson, deceased) of Yonkers, NY, Kathleen Bussey (Albert Bussey Sr., deceased) of Yonkers, NY, Phyllis Carroll (Charles Carroll) of East Stroudsburg, PA, Alesia Middleton, Allison Oliver, and Iris Oliver of Yonkers, NY; 21 nieces and nephews, 11 great-nieces and nephews, as well as a host of other relatives and friends who loved her dearly.

Adele was truly a caregiver, with a heart of gold and concern for the happiness and wellbeing of others. She was the example of what it truly means to love others, by actions, not words or financial support. She left a footprint of her wisdom and humor with everyone she encountered.
