Obituary for Angelina Monforte

Monforte, Angelina (Ange), 90 years young, passed away on October 26, 2020. Beloved wife of the late Anthony, who predeceased her in 1969. Loving mother of Joseph (Angela), Andrea, Pina and Louis (Christine). Cherished Nanny to grandchildren Anthony, Jessica (Rob), Nicholas, Jason, Michelle and Julie Ann and great-granddaughters Allana and Giada.

Born in the Bronx on July 21, 1930 to the late Anthony and Josephine Marziano, Ange grew up surrounded by a large extended family. On May 4, 1952, she married her beloved husband Anthony and they moved to New Rochelle, NY. After the untimely death of her husband, while raising four children by herself, Ange attended night school to learn how to run her husband’s insurance company, continuing to work hard to support her family.

Years later, Ange continued to work as a hostess and jewelry salesperson. People gravitated to her, enjoying her sense of humor, infectious laugh and genuine concern for others. She enjoyed life, always happiest in the company of her family and friends. Ange loved the beach and vacations spent with her family. She always had positive things to say about everybody, never let things get her down, made everyone she met feel special and loved her family and friends unconditionally.

Ange was a devout Catholic, attended church every Sunday and on weekdays. With her Bible and prayer book close by, Ange would read her prayers several times a day. She prayed for everyone and would offer special devotions for anyone in need. Now, those who loved her, will pray for her. Her memory and spirit will live on forever in the hearts of those whose lives she touched. May she rest in peace.
