Obituary for Doreen E. Warren

Doreen Elizabeth Warren (formerly Jetter; nee Merrill)

Doreen Elizabeth Warren was born on August 28, 1933 in Chester, PA to the late William Merrill,
Sr. and Hester Brown Merrill. She transitioned on Thursday, January 26, 2023 surrounded by
her loving family. Doreen received her formal education in Chester City School District, where
she formed many life-long friendships.
Doreen was adventurous and eventually migrated to and settled in Yonkers, New York. She
found employment at the Margaret Chapman School. Located in Valhalla, New York, Doreen
worked there with special needs children for many years until her retirement.
Doreen was a lifetime member of Community Sunset Temple #1132, IBPOEW; Samuel H. Dow
Boosters of Yonkers, NY and the Kings & Queens Players Motorcycle Club.
Among the things that Doreen enjoyed were cooking and sharing recipes with others, playing
cards, traveling, and spending time with family talking about “the good old days”. Doreen was
also a lover of hoagies; whenever she visited Chester, she was sure to take a few hoagies back
to Yonkers with her. If you went to Yonkers from Chester, you’d better have a couple of hoagies
with you, OR you got an earful!!
Besides her parents, Doreen was predeceased by her husband, Albert (Piggy) Jetter, her
husband, Abe (Snooks) Warren, stepdaughter Gail Warren, great grandson Javon Merrill and
her brother William (Billy) Merrill, Jr.
Doreen leaves to cherish her memories: son Laron C. Merrill, daughter, Denise R. Merrill both
