Obituary for Eleanor Elizabeth Rowan (Trube)
Eleanor (Elly) Elizabeth Rowan, 86, of Yonkers, peacefully left us on August 8th, 2020. She was born on Sept 27th, 1933 in Mt Vernon, to Frank and Henrietta (Sharppe) Trube, and was raised there with her sister Virginia. As a child she enjoyed roller-skating, dancing, and music. She excelled in math! Her favorite spot was Johnny’s Pizzeria.
Eleanor married Gerard in February of 1954, he preceded her in death.
She is survived by her four children: Ronnie Rowan, Donna Turnof, Barbara (Peter) Garville, and Cindy (Kelly) DiLello. Nine grandchildren: John, Michael, Matthew, Nicholas, Michele, Melissa, Valentina, Christopher and Ivan: nieces and nephews.
Eleanor was a loving devoted mother and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, reading, gardening, sewing, singing and dancing. Her most joyous times were spent watching her grandchildren play sports, perform in plays, and spending quality time with them.
She is the strongest woman we know. Rest easy mom…
