Obituary for Elias Y. "Elie" Maksoud

Elias ‘Elie’ Maksoud, 81, entered into eternal peace on Sunday February 14, 2021 at his home in Yonkers. Elie will be remembered as a loving husband of 57 years to his wife, Nadia (Haddad) Maksoud, a devoted father to his three children, Joseph (Annette) Maksoud, Joumana (Joe) Astrologo, James (Maggi) Maksoud and adoring grandfather to his six grandchildren, Amanda, Olivia, Gabriel, Eliana, Eli, and Charlie.

He was born in Beit Eddine, Lebanon on September 10, 1939, the middle child of the late Youssef and Philibe Maksoud. He is predeceased by his older brother Antoine Maksoud and survived by his younger sister Mona (Maksoud) Margossian. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

Elie’s presence will be greatly missed. He always wanted his family around him and did everything in his power to make that happen. His family meant everything to him, and his grandchildren brought him so much joy. He loved life and enjoyed sharing it with his family. His advice to his family, no matter how much pain he
was in, was always: “Life is worth living. Go live it.”

Elie the husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Though he will be missed here on earth, may we find comfort that he is home with Jesus and all his pain and suffering are gone.
