Kodukulanji, Chengannur. He was the fourth of nine children. He completed high school at JM High School,

Achankunju married his wife Achamma Mathew (Babykutty) on June 7th, 1976 and migrated to Amlai,
Madhya Pradesh three months later.
While in Amlai they were blessed with their three children Mathew George (Joby), Annie Thomas (Jibi) and Rachel Joy (Jini). With the help of his sister Kunjomol and brother-inlaw Rajan, Achankunju migrated his family to the United States in November of 1996. The family settled in Yonkers, NY to be near siblings.
Achankunju and Babykutty enjoyed 46 years of marriage together. He worked at American Specialties Inc. as a
machinist for almost 20 years and retired in 2015 at the age of 70.
Achankunju was a loving father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, three children, their spouses, Thomas S. Cherian (Sanju), Genu George and Jaison Joy, and survived by seven grandkids, Anisa, Abigail, Ashish, Ethan, Dylan, Anthony and Annalise.
Achankunju was surrounded by family during his last moments and was able to provide his words of advice and
comfort before his passing.
Achankunju left behind cherished memories with his family. While we mourn his passing on this earth, we are at peace that his suffering has come to an end and look forward to the day we are reunited on that beautiful shore.
