Our beloved Mother, Gladys Italia Jurado, 69, passed away peacefully at her home on October 6, 2022. She bravely confronted a terminal brain cancer, glioblastoma, for many months and was in the care of Jansen Hospice of Westchester. She was born March 16,1953 in Guayaquil, Ecuador, and lived in Yonkers for over forty years. Gladys’ home was the center of all family gatherings. She enjoyed cooking and baking, spending time with her grandchildren, and traveling.
Her travels took her to some amazing parts of the world. Some were as part of her missionary work with the St. Peters/ St. Denis group. She visited many of the U.S states with her family and friends and then headed to other countries such as Mexico, Spain, Greece, Jerusalem, Dominican Republic, Peru, Colombia and Canada.
Gladys is survived by her husband of 43 years, Victor Manuel Jurado and her daughter, Cristina Pazos (Jurado) and son Manuel Chafick Jurado, grandchildren Kaitlyn & Danny Pazos II; Cristian & Jesse James Jurado. Her sister Lidia Irene Chica Villamar, and brothers Mario Chica, Eduardo Chica and Hector Hugo Chica and many nieces & nephews. While here on earth she impacted many lives and will be dearly missed.
