Obituary for Grace R. Vlasaty

Grace Vlasaty, surrounded by her children and her grandchildren for days before her death, passed away peacefully early Wednesday morning, May 4, 2022, in the presence of her son and daughter, just a day after what would have been their 64th wedding anniversary.

Grace was an only child born on August 30, 1936, in the Bronx, NY, grew up and married the love of her life in Mount Vernon, NY, until they purchased their first and only home in Yonkers NY. Grace is survived by her children--son Ron Jr. and his wife Helena; daughter Laura and her husband Paul; her grandchildren, Paul and his wife Kim, Connor, Alex and Michael as well as many nieces and nephews through marriage and those that call her Aunt because of precious life-long friendships. Predeceased by her husband Ronald Vlasaty and her parents Lawrence and Madeline Lupo.

Grace met the love of her life while working at Ward Leonard Electric Company in Mount Vernon, NY, and they married on May 3, 1958. She took some time from work to raise her children and then spent a career working and doting not only on her husband, kids and grandkids, but also on all her clients at the Plumbers and Steamfitters Union Local 21.

Grace loved going away with her husband on their “last-minute” jaunts to Atlantic City, weekly card nights and travels with their “gang” of forever friends and spending time with their family.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to RVNA Health Hospice Care, by sending a check to 27 Governor Street, Ridgefield, CT 06877.

Visiting hours will be held at the Flynn Memorial Home on Monday, May 9th from 2:00 to 7:00 pm.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Our Lady of Fatima Church, Scarsdale, NY on Tuesday, May 10th at 10 AM.

Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Hastings-on-Hudson, NY.
