Obituary for Henry Nieves
Henry Nieves transitioned from this world on Saturday, April 11, 2020. The youngest of five children, he was born in The Bronx, New York where he lived until 1985, then moving to Yonkers where he stayed until his passing.
He had many adventures and many accomplishments, but none made him quite as proud as his family. Together with his wife of 43 years, Carmen (Lally) Nieves, he built a home for many.
He gave advice and encouraged others. He told long stories and stirred big laughs. He smiled brighter than anyone’s problems and hugged harder than anyone’s pain. He was a fixture, always there for whatever his family needed – a ride, a babysitter, a companion, a comic, an anecdote, a confidant, a wise word or a warm ear.
A loving brother, uncle, father, grandfather, husband and friend, he worked diligently to give the best of who he was to all that he knew and loved.
Henry will be remembered by all as a resilient and caring man, who fought to be with his family, until the end.
