Obituary for John A. Murray

John Murray was born in Garbally, County Offaly, Ireland to Denis and Bridgid Murray on April 20, 1939. He immigrated to the U.S. where he met his beloved wife of 54 years, Maureen. Together they had six children Dennis (Rebecca), Catherine O’Connor (Ed), Michelle Deloughery (Neal), Sheila, Mary Keaveney (John) and Brigid Arpa (John).
John enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially time with his grandchildren (Erin, Jack, Kerry, John, Aidan, Kieran, Dylan, Katie, Kiera, John, Tyler & Austin). He was also much loved by many nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

John is predeceased by his brother Brendan, his sister Kathleen and brother-in-law Fred Townsend, his sister Nuala and brother-in–law Frank Reilly, and his niece Colleen Armstrong. He is survived by his sister Mary (James) Connolly, and his sister-in-law Noreen Murray.

John was an avid NY Jets and Mets fan! He enjoyed spending time in East Durham and Long Beach Island. He was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Division 1, and the Holy Name Society. John was an active parishioner of Sacred Heart Parish for over 50 years and honorably served his country in the US Army.

His infectious smile and sense of humor will always be remembered.
