Kathleen “Ann” O’Hara (née Riley) of Yonkers, NY passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 3rd. She was 92 years old.
Ann was born on July 19, 1928. Originally from Schenectady, NY she attended Ladycliff College in Highland Falls, NY and spoke fondly of her time there. She called the Park Hill section of Yonkers home and was a long time parishioner of the former St. Denis parish.
The caring matriarch to 36, Ann was the loving wife of the late John W. O’Hara Sr. She was the mother of nine children - Kathleen Mills, Jean Murphy, Susan Harrington, Patricia Nugent, Barbara, Thomas, Peter and the late John Jr. (Jack) and Carol. She was “Nana” to sixteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, who nicknamed her “Nanny G.O.A.T” - “greatest of all time.”
Ann was a consummate reader & library patron whose rituals included her daily newspapers, crossword puzzles and watching Jeopardy. She loved cooking, baking & dining out and was best known for her legendary ginger cookies. Her home was always open to all.
