Kathleen Grimes, 60, passed away on Jun 5, 2021, at her home in Safety Harbor, FL.

Born April 26, 1961, in Bronx, NY, Kathleen grew up in Yonkers, where her quick mind, clever wit and gifts for music, design, drama and art were all evident from an early age.

She attended Our Lady of Victory Academy in Dobbs Ferry, NY, and pursued undergraduate studies at Stonehill College. She received her MBA in Public Accounting from Lubin School of Business, Pace University, where she graduated summa cum laude and received the Hayes Award for Excellence.

Kathleen began her career at Ernst & Young in New York, and held management positions at J. DeBenedetto & Company, William Green & Co, Millbrae Energy and Parsons & Whittemore.
In 2015, she moved to the Tampa Bay area where she established her own CPA consultancy.

Her final day was spent doing the things that she loved -- baking cookies to feed her infamous sweet tooth and gardening in the brilliant, colorful oasis she created at her home in Florida.

Beloved mother, daughter, sister and aunt, she is survived by her daughter, Lillian Knoeppel, her mother, Arlayne Grimes, siblings Suzanne, Patrick (Stephanie) and Kevin (Yvonne)
and an extended and devoted family of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and many friends who will miss her irrepressible spirit and strength.

A memorial service will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Pelham Manor, NY on Tuesday, June 15th at 11am and there will be a visitation on Monday, June 14th from 4pm - 8pm at Flynn Memorial Home, 1652 Central Park Avenue in Yonkers, NY.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in memory of Kathleen’s father, Patrick H. Grimes, or to the Heart of the Catskills Humane Society, where Kathleen found and adopted her faithful companion, Chubbs.

Kathleen was my manager here at Intuit (my first season with this company) and I couldn't tell you the relief I felt after I met her. She has this infectious way to put everyone at ease and not once made any one of us feel out of place. She made our team feel like home. Not to mention how much we learned from her, holy cow! I knew her for a very short amount of time, but she left a massive mark and I am so very sorry to see her gone. Garth was also our team mascot and he fulfilled his duties well! We would be in our daily meeting with Kathleen and all of a sudden Garth would just start barking and Kathleen would say "oh no worries, it's just Garth's alligator friend that lives in the backyard coming up to sunbathe"...we all thought that was crazy! But with her, she was even able to make something crazy sound ok and assured us that it was indeed ok. She also always talked about her cookies and how gooey and soft they were and I told her I wanted to come to FL one day just to taste her darn cookies she keeps talking about! I looked forward to her meetings and some of us would even log on for the day to work just simply to join her meetings. She was the best manager I've ever had and she will be remembered well. And very missed. Thank you for letting me share and I truly am so sorry for the loss of Kathleen.
