Obituary for Kenneth F. See
It is with very heavy hearts, we share the passing of Kenneth F. See on Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at the age of 84. After nearly a decade long battle with diabetes, heart failure and kidney failure, Big Ken, as he was affectionately called by friends, succumbed. Although he passed from kidney failure, covid-19 was responsible. He had been isolated from his family for too long. Without family by his bedside, fighting alongside him, Ken lost his will to keep fighting.
Kenneth was born on August 3, 1935 to Charles and Florence (Muller) See in Bronx, New York. He was their third child. His father signed him into the United States Marine Corp on August 29, 1952. He served in the peace keeping effort in Korea until February 17, 1955. Shortly after his discharge on August 28, 1960, Kenneth began his lifelong career in the elevator industry, where he would work as a mechanic in construction, repair and maintenance in the 5 boroughs and Westchester County until his retirement in 2004. On October 12, 1963, he married Maria T. Bisulca of New York City. They bought their first home in Yonkers, New York shortly after. Labor Day weekend 1970 they adopted their first child, Kerry Ann, born August 25, 1970. They then moved to Mt. Kisco, New York and on December 7, 1972, their son, Kenneth Adam, was born. Returning the family to Yonkers in 1976, Kenneth would call Yonkers his hometown until his passing.
Kenneth is survived by his wife, Maria T. See, and his two children, Kerry A. See and Kenneth A. See. He is predeceased by both his parents, Charles and Florence See, his brother, Donald and sisters, Carol and Lorraine. Kenneth will be remembered for his devotion to his wife and children; his love of life, laughter, music, Broadway theater, movies, all things Irish, Ireland itself, animals, especially our cats, fishing, tattoos, hot chocolate, S&S cheesecake and milk; his generosity; his whole hearted laugh; his singing of Irish and traditional pub songs; his knack of sweeping you off your feet on the dance floor; his work ethic; his no nonsense, “I am who I am” attitude; his commitment to his friends and his simple yet sage advice. Kenneth’s family appreciates the love and support of family and friends during this difficult time.
A memorial service is being planned for what would have been Kenneth’s 85th birthday on August 3, 2020. Kerry A. See will announce arrangements on her Facebook page when plans are confirmed.
