Obituary for Lida Bertolotti

On July 2nd, 1946 Lida was born in Careggine, Lucca Italy to Maria and Rimini Fornari.

At the age of fourteen Lida met her soul mate, Luigi Bertolotti. They were married in 1967 and in 1968 she traveled to America. Five years later Lida proudly became a citizen of the United States.

Though not fluent in the English language Lida studied cosmetology and successfully obtained her license. She developed a strong following as she made her clients not only look good but feel good as well.

Lida was a dedicated mother to her two sons, John and Roberto. She treasured her children and embraced every moment she spent with them. She especially loved her role as Nonna. The flower and vegetable garden she kept with Luigi's help, provided many of the meals that were prepared anytime of the day.

She was an avid trout fisherman and bested the men on most occasions; I think Luigi would agree. An accomplished skier, Lida skied for over 20 years. She loved vacationing at the Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, the Bellagio in Las Vegas, Alaska, and most importantly Italy to visit her family. She was a strong believer that vacation time was a family necessity. Lida also loved playing slots at the Raceway Casino and more times than not, walked away with her winnings.

Lida easily made friends everywhere she went because she always had a kind word. A friend wrote "Lida was a woman of extreme kindness with a big heart".

Lida is survived by her loving husband of fifty-three years, Luigi Bertolotti, her children John and Roberto Bertolotti, her grandchildren Arianna Bertolotti and Brendan Bertolotti, daughter-in-law Denice Bertolotti, and her brother-in-law Nicolino Bertolotti.

The Bertolotti family appreciates your kind thoughts and prayers during this time, however, due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, the funeral services for Lida will be held privately.
