Obituary for Louise V. Fantino

Louise Vellecca Fantino passed away in her sleep during the early morning hours of Tuesday, September 20th. She was 93. She was born in December of 1928 to Angelina (née D'Amato) and Michael Vellecca and was raised in the Bronx, NY.

Louise worked with special needs children in the Ardsley Union Free School District for over 30 years beginning with kindergarteners and then later continuing with high school aged students. She had the utmost compassion and truly loved children. Louise always treated everyone equally and would go out of her way to help even a stranger. Her family could always depend on her whenever they were in need and it was her true joy to help them any way she could. Her family is what mattered most in life to Louise and she cherished every minute spent with them.

She is survived by her daughters Judy Allo and Linda Bencivengo and predeceased by her son Charles Cacciola. Louise was a loving grandmother to Frank Allo, Amanda Gassner and Michael Allo and Dillon Bencivengo, as well as her great-grandchildren Ariana, Isabel, Alexis, Kaylie, Frankie, James and the late Nicholas. She is survived by her brother Robert (Rosemary) Velleca and predeceased by her brother Neil (Edna) Vellecca. Visitation will be held Friday from 7:00pm to 9:00pm at Flynn Memorial Home in Yonkers. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday at 10:00am at Sacred Heart Church, in Hartsdale, NY. Interment will follow at Ferncliff Cemetery, Hartsdale, NY.
