Obituary for Mariamma Jacob
Mariamma J. Jacob was born on February 28th, 1933 as the third born daughter and third child to the late Rachel Chacko and Thundil Joseph Chacko, Thundil house, Akamkudy, Pallipad, Kerala. She walked through the gates of Heaven to be with the Lord on March 26th, 2021.
After completing her education in general nursing, she worked several years at KM Hospital in Bokaro Steel City, India. Through God's divine intervention on November 18th, 1968, She wed John Jacob. A few years thereafter, they were blessed with the birth of their son, Shibu J. Jacob.
In 1977, She immigrated to Chicago, Illinois in search of a better life for her family. In Chicago, Illinois, she worked as a nurse technician for several years. In 1983, she passed the licensed practical nurse (LPN) exam and moved to NY during the 1982-1983 recession. She was then finally successful in passing the test to become a registered nurse (RN) in 1994 and worked as an RN until 2004, which was the year of her retirement. Sadly, her husband, John Jacob, passed away in 2004 as well.
She was a woman of prayer, a devoted wife, a loving mother and grandmother. She leaves behind her son, Shibu Jacob, her daughter in law, Jebsy Jacob, her two grandchildren, Cynthia Jacob and Celina Jacob.
She also leaves behind her younger brother T.C. Thomas but will reunite with her husband, her parents, her elder sisters the late Kunjamma Varghese, Amini Oomen and her younger brother T.C. Joseph.
One day we all will join Mariamma and be reunited once again in God's kingdom.
