Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Marie DiPaulo,77, of Scarsdale, NY. Marie joined her heavenly family and gained her wings on Saturday, October 31, 2020, at White Plains Hospital, after a long battle with Covid-19. Marie fought with a strength she didn’t even realize she had, but her family couldn’t be more proud of her.

Marie was born in Manhattan, NY to Peter and Lucy Catale in 1943. She had one brother, the late Robert Catale. In 1982, Marie met the love of her life, Chuck DiPaulo, and they wed in 1993. Marie worked for many years at Cafe Trento, a perfect place for her to pursue her passion for baking.

Marie had a heart of gold, and radiated a warmth like no other to everyone around her. She was a natural born chef and baker. She was our very own TOP CHEF. Marie’s family and friends were always welcomed with opened arms and her superb cooking was always the highlight of every holiday and celebration.

Marie is survived by her three loving children, Patricia, John, and Stephanie, her adored granddaughter and soon-to-be-mother Samantha and her husband Jon. Marie was an extraordinary woman filled with so much love and compassion for others and will be missed terribly by all those who knew and loved her.

You always treated me like I was your grandchild. Your happiness, strength, love and conviction were always contagious in the most positive of ways. Your energy always brought my spirits up. You truly knew how to make my soul smile. As a model citizen to your friends and loved ones you always influenced me to want to do better by leading by example. You made this world a brighter place for me, and everyone who had the pleasure to know you. I hope the lord would bestow grace upon me by allowing me to lead as fulfilling a life as you did. Your memory will leave a lasting impact on all the lives who were blessed to interact with you. I'll miss you, your spirit will live on forever in me and in all the lives you've touched. To know you was to understand love and respect. Heaven gained an angel.. Rest in paradise. Love always, your grandson Nick.

It is with a very heavy heart that I write this tribute in memory of a very special person in my life. Marie will always be remembered and loved as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter and friend to everyone who was privileged to be part of her life. I was fortunate to grow up with her as part of my family and to have her as best friend to both my sisters Dee and Ro. Thank you Marie for the cooking lessions, your generosity, laughter and good times. Fly high and free with your angelic wings Marie along side your beloved Chuckie. I know you will always watch over your family and protect them with love, God bless you and them at this most difficult time.
