Obituary for Mario Scaduto III

On November 8th, 2023, Mario Scaduto III was taken from us. He was a beloved husband and friend to many. He is survived by his loving wife Jody.

Mario was a first responder for the September 11 World Trade Center terrorist attack. He contracted Metastatic Cancer related to his participation in the rescue and recovery operation at ground zero.

Mario “Miff” Scaduto III was born on August 30, 1955, in Manhattan NY to Mario Jr. and Jackie Scaduto. The family moved to Yonkers when Mario was 14 years old. There he met some of his closest friends that he still has today. They mostly hung out at the Bronxville Lake and were affectionately known as “The Lake Crew.”. This group of friends became inseparable. Their favorite hang out was Park Place Pete’s in Bronxville. They started and ended each night there.

That is where Mario in 1983 met and fell in love with his future wife Jody Bozek. They eventually tied the knot in 1994 and have been together ever since.

On Feb. 20, 1978, Mario enlisted in the United States Air Force/ NYANG as a fire protection specialist. He served his country with pride for 36 years retiring in 2014. Mario is also retired New York State Firefighter from Stewart International Airport

Mario loved boating. He especially loved overnight stays on the boat with Jody while it was docked at the Marina. They often invited friends over to the boat to share in the enjoyment.

Mario loved all sports, but Baseball had a special place in his heart. Especially watching and going to see the Yankee’s play.

Mario was a very special person who will be sorely missed. He had a favorite Lake Crew expression I will say good-bye with
Dial-Teg Mario
