Obituary for Robert V. Reape

Robert V. Reape son of Michael and Mary Reape was born on January 1st, 1928 and grew up on Oak Street in Yonkers where attended St Mary’s Elementary School and Saunders High School. He was drafted and served in the Army and achieved the rank of Sergeant and was stationed in Japan at the end of World War II.

Robert married Lois Taylor on January 6th, 1951 at St Margaret’s Church in Riverdale with a reception at the Park Hill Racquet Club in Yonkers. They were married for over 72 years. Lois (92) passed away peacefully on March 24th, 2023 and Robert (95) passed away on March 25th, 2023, soon after so that they can be together in eternity.

Robert was a mechanical engineer for Albert Fentzlaff, Inc. for most of his career and self-employed for later years. He has been an active member of St Paul the Apostle Church and the Park Hill Racquet Club. He enjoyed playing tennis well into their 80s, and bowling into his 90s.

Robert is joining his wife, Lois and their daughter, Marybeth, and his 3 siblings, Michael and John Reape and Mary Silinsky. He is survived by (6) children: Robert (Pat), Eileen, Paul (Diana), Richard (Amanda), Thomas (Sonia), and Michael, and (6) grandchildren: Kathleen (Matt) Capone, Patricia (Aaron) Brady, Colleen (Kyle) Linbrunner, Maryanne (Adam) Bown, Kristeen Reape and Alysia Reape and (8) great grandchildren Claire, Evan and Brendan Capone and Iris, Patrick and Evelyn Brady, Nora Linbrunner, and Ryan Bown. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
