Obituary for Rose Ann Romano

Rose Ann Romano was born May 4, 1945 in Hoboken, New Jersey. She lived with her grandmother, Libera Romano. After her grandmother’s passing, Rose Ann moved to Queens to live with her Uncle Dominick and Aunt Nancy Singaliese who raised her. She lived with her cousins Lillian, Michael and Jeanne, who were like siblings to her. In 1966, they moved to Yonkers.

She worked for many years as a sales associate in department stores including: Kleins, Alexanders and Bradlees. In 2006, after 55 years, she was able to find and reconnect with her long lost biological sister, Mary Borrelli, and kept in touch. After the passing of her mom, Nancy, in 2008, she moved in with her cousin, Lillian, her husband, Joe Suleiman, and their family, where she lived the remainder of her life.

Rose Ann enjoyed many hobbies including crocheting, needlepoint, beading, completing search-a-word, and playing board games like Scrabble and Uno. Rose Ann loved animals, especially her pets. Rose Ann went daily to a Senior citizen center, where she loved to spend time with her friends, played Bingo, Dominos and socialized with her friends. Rose Ann loved dancing, listening to music and going to parties. She was always the life of the party and on the dance floor.

Rose Ann made friends everywhere she went. She loved everyone and everyone loved her. She was kind and always offered to help others. She touched many lives throughout her life and will be dearly missed by all.
