Obituary for Sara E. Maisonet Delgado
Sara Maisonet Cruz was born in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico on July 2,1921 at 9pm to
Emeterio Maisonet Carrillo and Esperanza Cruz Burgos, both from Rio Grande, Puerto Rico.
She is survived by two siblings, Maria Cristina Maisonet (95), Trujillo Alto, PR and Jose "Cheo" Maisonet Cruz (90), San Isidro, Canovanas, PR.
Surviving children, Samuel F. Delgado Bronx NY, Ruth E. Cruz(Delgado) Canovanas, PR, Irma Robinson(Delgado) Spring Hill, Florida and Annette Delgado, Yonkers, NY.
And laid to rest two Children, Eliseo Delgado 1942 - 2015 and David Delgado 1946-1997
Sara Maisonet Delgado married Francisco Delgado in 1942 in Puerto Rico. They went on to have 6 children. Sara and Francisco (Don Paco) came to NY in 1952 to give her children a better chance at life. She was a stay-at-home mom in the early 1950’s. As her children got older, she went to work as a seamstress in a Manhattan factory on 28th st.
Sara leaves a legacy behind her, with 20 grandchildren, 49 great grandkids, 29 great, great grandkids and 3 great great great grands. Her memory will live on forever. A devoted christian woman, Sara instilled in her family the importance of religion, faith, determination and love. Sara loved her family and lived life to its fullest.
Reaching the young old age of 101 years.
God called her up to heaven on April 27, 2023 at 5:36 pm. She will truly be missed.
