Sister Alberta T. Carey (1935- 2022) died at NY Presbyterian Hospital on May 15, 2022. After transferring from the Franciscan Sisters of St. Joseph, she entered the Sisters of Charity of New York on August 31, 1975. Sister Alberta’s ministry in nursing included teaching in St. Joseph Hospital Yonkers School of Nursing, College of Mount St. Vincent, Bronx and the College of Staten Island. She also served the NY Archdiocese as Associate Director of the Northwest Bronx Office of Substance Abuse. Sister served as Public Health Advisor with Health Research, Inc., the NYS Department of Health, New Rochelle and as Nurse administrator in the Bronx Psychiatric Center.

Sister Alberta is survived by her sister Lauretta Conniff, nieces Rita Magnuski and Eileen Driscoll and the Sisters of Charity with whom she has shared life for 47 years.
