Sr. Kathleen McKiernan (1934-2020) (formerly Sr. Dolores Elizabeth) died at St. Joseph Medical Center on August 31, 2020. Sr. Kathleen entered the Sisters of Charity of New York on September 8, 1951. Sister served as a nurse at St. Vincent Hospital and later taught in the hospital’s School of Nursing. Sr. Kathleen also held administrative positions at St. Vincent’s School of Nursing in Richmond, St. Joseph Hospital, Yonkers, and Cabrini Nursing Home, Dobbs Ferry. She taught at Pace University in Manhattan and served as NYC Director of Accreditation Services for the National Association of Practical Nurse Education and Service. She is survived by her brother Fr. Vincent McKiernan, C.P., her sister-in law Margaret McKiernan, several nieces and nephews, and the Sisters of Charity with whom she has shared life for 69 years. Wake at the Flynn Memorial Home (Central Park Ave., Yonkers) on Thursday, Sept. 3, 2020, from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. Prayer and Sharing of Memories at 3:30 P.M. Funeral Mass 9:45 A.M. on Friday, Sept. 4, 2020 at St. Margaret of Cortona Church, 6000 Riverdale Ave., Bronx, New York 10471 Burial: Saint Agatha's Cemetery, Nanuet, NY.
