Sister Mary Adele Henze (1930-2022) died at Calvary Hospital on July 17, 2022. She entered the Sisters of Charity of New York on September 8, 1951. Sister Mary Adele’s ministry included teaching in St. Paul, Brooklyn; St. Ignatius Loyola, Manhattan; St. John the Evangelist, White Plains, and principalship in Holy Trinity, Mamaroneck. She served as guidance counselor at Nativity, Visitation and St. Barnabas in the Bronx and St. Gabriel High School in New Rochelle. She was Director of Religious Education at Immaculate Heart of Mary in Scarsdale. In 1996, Sister Mary Adele retired from active service and, in 2007, joined the retired sisters at Mount St. Vincent Convent .

Sister Mary Adele is survived by her sister Catherine Surlis, numerous nieces and nephews and the Sisters of Charity with whom she has shared life for almost 72 years.
