Obituary for Zbigniew "Bishop" Walencik
Zbigniew “ Bishop” Walencik passed away suddenly at home on January 25, 2023. Bishop will be mourned and missed by those who loved and respected him.
Born July 27, 1949 in Bad Reichenhil, Germany. Bishop immigrated with his proud Polish parents and siblings to this country through the efforts of Catholic Charities Polish Relief Fund. The large family settled in Yonkers where Bishop attended St. Casmir’s School and Gorton HS.
As an adult, he worked for Otis Elevator Co and later the Westchester Country Club.
Bishop was predeceased by his parents and wife and is survived by many family members, fiancé and friends.
Visitation will take place at the Flynn Memorial Home on Central Park Avenue, on Monday, January 30th from 9:00 am -11:00 am.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Casmir’s RC Church, on Nepperhan Avenue, Yonkers, NY at 11:30 am.
Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Bronx NY.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Bishop’s name to the Yonkers Police Benevolent Association. This would be most appreciated by his family..
