Lance Oluf Hansen was born to Jennese Neale Hansen on June 24,1963 at Parkchester General Hospital in the Bronx, NY.

Alongside Lance's mother, his Aunt Cherrybelle, and late grandmother and grandfather, Cherrybelle and Herbert Hansen, were influential in his upbringing.

Lance attended P.S. 76, Olinville Junior High School, and Gompers High School. He completed his formal education in 1982.

Lance married Tishane Graves in New York City on February 7, 2006. Out of this union their two beautiful children, Lance Joshua and Taniyah Chere were born. Lance also lovingly helped raise Tishane's eldest sons, David and Tyquane.

Comically known as "the elevator man," Lance's jovial laughter and winning smile helped him earn a promotion to the role of custodian at The Yonkers Public Library, where he worked for almost a decade. In his most recent career service, Lance was trained as a New York City Police Department Peace Officer for the Department of Homeless Services.

A big, huggable bear, Lance was loved for his warm spirit, caring heart, and infectious laughter. He touched the lives of the many family and friends with whom he shared jokes and broke bread.

Lance is preceded in death by his younger brother, Jerome Craig Hancock.

Lance is survived by his loving wife, Tishane, his children, Lance and Taniyah, and stepsons, David and Tyquane.

Lance is also survived by his mother, Jennese Hansen, aunt Cherrybelle JeanBaptiste, mother-in-law Vivian Graves, uncles Conrad Gordon and Curt Day, and siblings Raphael, Ellise, and Herbert Hancock. His surviving family also includes: cousins Tiffany, Darise, Cagney and Nicole; sister-in-laws Angie, Jessica, Jeanette, Shaleakqua, Deseree and Nakia; brother-in-laws Darrin, Michael, Ramel, Rhajeem and Adam. Lance is also survived by thirty-five nieces and nephews and twelve great nieces and nephews.

Each and every one will cherish his loving memory.
