Monforte, Angelina (Ange), 90 years young, passed away on October 26, 2020. Beloved wife of the late Anthony, who predeceased her in 1969. Loving mother of Joseph (Angela), Andrea, Pina and Louis (Christine). Cherished Nanny to grandchildren Anthony, Jessica (Rob), Nicholas, Jason, Michelle and Julie Ann and great-granddaughters Allana and Giada.

Born in the Bronx on July 21, 1930 to the late Anthony and Josephine Marziano, Ange grew up surrounded by a large extended family. On May 4, 1952, she married her beloved husband Anthony and they moved to New Rochelle, NY. After the untimely death of her husband, while raising four children by herself, Ange attended night school to learn how to run her husband’s insurance company, continuing to work hard to support her family.

Years later, Ange continued to work as a hostess and jewelry salesperson. People gravitated to her, enjoying her sense of humor, infectious laugh and genuine concern for others. She enjoyed life, always happiest in the company of her family and friends. Ange loved the beach and vacations spent with her family. She always had positive things to say about everybody, never let things get her down, made everyone she met feel special and loved her family and friends unconditionally.

Ange was a devout Catholic, attended church every Sunday and on weekdays. With her Bible and prayer book close by, Ange would read her prayers several times a day. She prayed for everyone and would offer special devotions for anyone in need. Now, those who loved her, will pray for her. Her memory and spirit will live on forever in the hearts of those whose lives she touched. May she rest in peace.

We are so saddened by "Nangie's" passing. She was absolutely 90 yrs YOUNG! Her spirit will live on with my boys, Michael, and me forever. We have the BEST memories of her with my mom, as my sons were growing up. She was like another grandmother to them, and they feel incredibly sad right now. We miss her already. I would always call her every week, as I was folding my laundry, and I could tell her ANYTHING. She always listened, understood me, and made me feel better. I feel like I am losing my best friend.
Here is a funny story of her with my boys in Cape May, N.J.. We were in a restaurant with dim lighting, so we couldn't see the menu. She pulled a lighter out of her "Mary Poppins'" pocketbook and held it up to the menu to see it. Christopher saw smoke and then Vinnie saw flames, as she set the menu on fire!!! She then dropped the menu, started screaming, and proceeded to grab all of our water glasses to douse the flames!!! Everyone was looking at us, as we caused quite the scene!!! We have our BEST and most FUN memories of her and my mom on those vacations. We will cherish them and her in our hearts forever and ever. She always told us that she prayed for all of us, so now we pray for her, but we know that she is up there in heaven still praying for all of us down here.
With deepest sympathy, prayers, and much love,
Tomianne, Michael, Vinnie, and Christopher Maggio

How appropriate to celebrate her funeral Mass on November 1st. All Saints Day revolves around "giving God solemn thanks for the lives and deaths of his saints" Angelina Monforte knew every saint's vocation and she prayed for everyone she knew. In my heart, I know that was a living saint herself and I am so grateful to have known her. My deepest condolences to her entire multigenerational family. I can only imagine the loss, as I too miss her already.
